Patient Lifting & Transfers
Patient transfer aids help a person move between a bed, chair, wheelchair, toilet or car with less strain on them and on the person helping. At Allcare Warehouse, this range brings together hoists and slings, transfer boards and belts, slide sheets and lift chairs for home carers, families and care facilities. We are a registered National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provider, so participants can buy through a self-managed, plan-managed or NDIA-managed plan. Products are shown without prices, so call 1300 767 777 or visit our Liverpool showroom to talk through what suits your situation.

Choosing manual handling equipment by the move
Start with the move that is hard right now, then choose the manual handling equipment that matches it. The four categories below group our patient transfer aids by move, from a shuffle up the bed to a full lift.
Patient hoists and slings
When a person cannot take their own weight, a hoist and sling do the lifting instead of a carer's back. Our Patient Hoists & Slings range includes the Allegro Sonata and Allegro Alto mobile hoists, the Allegro Salsa standing hoist for sit-to-stand moves, and matching slings. A hoist should be chosen after a clinician's assessment and used only by trained carers. Allcare does not provide assessments.
Transfer aids
For people who can sit up and help with the move, our Transfer Aids bridge the gap between two surfaces or give the carer something secure to hold. The range covers transfer boards in timber and plastic, transfer belts with carer handles, patient turntables, swivel seats and a car transfer bar.
Slide sheets and positioning
Low friction slide sheets make it easier to move someone up the bed, turn them or settle them back into a chair. You will find nylon slide sheets, the WendyLett sheet system and one way slides for chairs, plus foot stools and anti slip mats.
Lift chairs and care seating
Our lift chairs and care seating include electric chairs with a rise function, mobile tilt and recline chair/beds, orthopaedic chairs and perching stools.
Carer lifting aids and safer handling
Safe Work Australia includes moving or holding a person among its examples of hazardous manual tasks. Carer lifting aids do not replace good technique, but they can reduce how much weight a carer takes on, so ask the person's physiotherapist or occupational therapist to show you each one. If a hoist is being considered, read our guide to a patient hoist for home use.
Equipment after a hospital stay
Coming home from hospital is often when patient transfer aids are needed in a hurry. Our article on hospital discharge equipment covers what families organise first. If the hospital team has recommended items, read the list to us over the phone and we can tell you what we have and how delivery works.
Buying with NDIS funding
NDIS funding decisions are made by the NDIA and the participant's plan, never by Allcare. If you are using your plan, our guide to buying aids with NDIS funding explains the steps. To talk through a transfer, call 1300 767 777 or visit our Liverpool showroom at Shop 7 inside Northumberland Arcade, 230 Northumberland Street, Liverpool.
