Rossmax Blood Glucose Monitoring System
For people with diabetes, Healthdirect says self-testing is usually done with a finger-prick blood sample on a test strip, read by a glucose meter. The Rossmax kit includes the monitor, a lancing device, 10 lancets, a zipper bag, an instruction manual and a quick guide. Rossmax lists these features:
- auto-coding, so there is no code to enter for the strips
- a result in 5 seconds from a micro sample, with a warning if the sample is too small
- 500 memories, with 7, 14 and 30 day averages
- Bluetooth low energy, which links the meter to the Rossmax Healthstyle app
Test strips are not in the listed kit, so ask about them when you order.
Frequently asked questions
Can I test somewhere other than my fingertip?
Rossmax lists the meter as approved for alternative site testing, but the listing does not name the sites. Read the instruction manual before testing anywhere other than a fingertip, and ask your doctor, diabetes educator or pharmacist whether alternative sites suit you.
Who is this meter made for?
Rossmax describes it for home blood glucose monitoring by people with diabetes or hypoglycaemia, and says the meter gives the approximate concentration of glucose in the blood. Keep your readings, in the meter or the app, and bring them to appointments so your doctor can see the pattern.
How do I order the Rossmax meter?
