Aged care and facility beds
An aged care bed has to work hard: several shifts of carers, frequent repositioning, and residents who may be at risk of falls. Allcare Warehouse's Care & Facility Beds range brings together beds built for residential care, community care and higher-need homes, from Icare's Gravitate floorline beds to the Sileo, BetterLiving and Avalon ranges. Each one is electric and adjusts the user's position, but they differ in how low they go, how they move and what they suit. Here is how to compare them.

Floorline beds
A floorline bed lowers the sleeping platform to, or very close to, floor level, so the bed can sit low while the person rests and rise again for care.
- Gravitate G5: the lowest bed in the Icare range at 67mm, with a five-position vascular support function and a 190kg safe working load. Single size only.
- Gravitate G6: head lift, knee break, height adjustment and Trendelenburg tilt, with emergency battery back-up lowering and a 220kg safe working load.
Both have lockable hand controls, so staff can limit which functions the user can change. Matching G5 and G6 side rails, a G5 grab rail and a Gravitate pull up bar are listed alongside them.
Low low beds
The Avalon Floor Lo-Lo Bed is a column-less electric bed that lowers to 160mm from the floor, made to reduce the risk of injury from falls and minimise the need for restraints. It comes in single and king single. A crash mat beside a low low bed can help reduce injuries if someone rolls out. Crash mats are in our bedside aids.
Facility beds for residential and community care
- Gravitate G4 Facility Bed: a heavy duty, four-function single bed that disassembles for storage and moving.
- Sileo Aged Care Bed: a fully featured electric bed designed for residential care facilities, with a scissor lift, a height range of 330 to 780mm, base extension and removable head and foot panels. A self help pole, side rails and a back-up battery are sold separately.
- BetterLiving Community Bed: a profiling bed with high-low, backrest, knee break and Trendelenburg tilt, including a king single version, easy to assemble and store for community or aged care use.
- Avalon Rotating Bed: an electric bed that rotates into a profiling chair, helping weight-bearing residents move between sitting and standing.
Choosing the right facility bed
Match the bed to the resident and the room. Ask how low it needs to go, whether staff need to lock out functions, what weight it must carry and whether a hoist will run under it. Pair it with a suitable surface from our pressure mattresses and the right rails from our bed accessories. For high-risk mental health rooms, see our anti-ligature beds, and for a single client at home, our home care beds may suit better. Facility buyers can also read our guide to aged care equipment, or browse every care bed type.
