Wheelchair accessories for comfort and positioning

  • Trays: the Wheelchair Tray fits between the armrest frame and armpad and is held by locking handwheels, while the Universal Tray straps on with adjustable velcro and has a cup holder recess.
  • Leg and arm support: the Elevating Legrest adjusts in angle and length, the Stump Support attaches through the existing legrest mounts, and the Armrest Trough supports a weak arm in a fixed position. Legrests and stump supports are sold singly, so specify left or right.
  • Belts: the Wheelchair Lap Belt fastens to the frame to help with positioning, in velcro, nylon buckle or car buckle styles.
  • Grip and comfort: half-finger Wheelchair Gloves have gel palms for pushing, and the sheepskin accessories are genuine Australian lambswool.
  • Tyres and carriers: the Solid Polyurethane Tyre is a maintenance-free option in 20, 22 and 24 inch sizes, and the Oxygen Bottle Carrier suits type C cylinders.

Walker tray, bags and baskets

A walker tray lets you carry a cup or plate while keeping both hands on the frame. The Walking Frame Tray has a raised edge, a non-slip mat and a cup holder, and is made to suit Care Quip walking frames. The Carry Apron is a waterproof nylon bag with four front pockets that attaches to most frames with velcro tabs, and the Netbag is a light knotted bag that clips on. The frames these fit are in rollators and walking frames.

Crutch tips, stick tips and grips

Rubber tips wear with use, and a worn tip grips less well. Crutch tips in the range include the Stick & Crutch Tips, the deep-profile Crutch Tip Heavy Duty and Crutch Tip Jumbo, and the Sherpa Tip, whose tapered base flexes with the walking surface. The Quad Stick Tip suits quad sticks, and Bowlers Ferrules spread the load of a stick or crutch so it does not mark a bowling green. For comfort, there are padded tops and hand grips for underarm crutches and sheepskin grips for elbow and underarm models. Frequently asked questions

How do I know which crutch tips fit my crutches?
Check the tip size listed on your crutch or stick, or measure across the bottom of the tube. Our crutch tips come in 22 mm, 25 mm and 28 mm, and stick tips in 16 mm and 19 mm. If you are unsure, bring the crutch to our Liverpool showroom and we can match it.
How does the rear wheelchair bag attach?
The Rear Carry Bag wraps around the backrest upholstery of the wheelchair and is secured with velcro. It has a zippered compartment for small items such as a phone or keys, and is easily removed when you no longer need it on the chair.
Can a wheelchair lap belt be used as a restraint?
No. The product description states that the lap belt is for positioning and safety and is not to be used as a patient restraint. If you need advice on safe positioning in a wheelchair, speak with an occupational therapist.
Can I buy a single tip or grip?
Most tips are supplied individually, so you can replace just the one that has worn. Grips and tops for crutches are supplied as a pair. Call 1300 767 777 with the item and size you need and we will confirm what is in stock.
