Pill Organisers

A pill organiser is a container with a compartment for each dose, so you can sort tablets ahead of time and see at a glance whether today's have been taken. Allcare Warehouse stocks pill organisers in one day and seven day sizes, with single or morning and evening compartments, in the VitaPlus range and our standard range. They suit people who take several medicines a day, and carers who fill a box for someone else. A pill cutter is also available.

Choosing a pill organiser

Start with how many times a day the medicines are taken and how far ahead you want to fill the box.

  • One Day Pill Box: a single day's compartments, handy for a bag or a day out.
  • One Day (am/pm) Pill Box: separate morning and evening compartments for one day.
  • Seven Day Pill Box: one compartment for each day of the week.
  • Seven Day Pill Box (am/pm): morning and evening compartments for each day.
  • One Week (Day Out) Pill Box: a week of doses in day sections that can be taken out.

Each of these comes in the VitaPlus range as well as our standard range. Our standard pill boxes are made from BPA free plastic and are described by the maker as suitable for medical use.

Weekly pill box or blister pack?

A weekly pill box is filled by you or a carer, usually once a week. Healthdirect suggests a weekly dosing aid as one way to organise medicines, and notes that a pharmacist may be able to prepare a pharmacy-packed blister pack if remembering which medicine to take when is difficult. Talk to your pharmacist or GP about which option suits your medicines, especially if some need to be kept in their original packaging. The Weekly Pill Organizer in our range is another seven day option.

Pill cutter

A pill cutter holds a tablet in place while a blade cuts it, which is easier and neater than using a knife. Not every tablet should be split, so check with your pharmacist or the medicine's information leaflet before cutting any tablet.

Frequently asked questions

Which pill organiser suits twice-daily medicines?
Choose an am/pm version, either the One Day (am/pm) Pill Box or the Seven Day Pill Box (am/pm), so morning and evening doses sit in separate compartments. If you take medicines more often than twice a day, ask your pharmacist about other options.
Can I take a weekly pill box away with me?
Yes. The One Week (Day Out) Pill Box lets you remove single days, and the One Day Pill Box is small enough for a bag. Keep a list of your medicines with you in case you need to show it to a doctor or pharmacist.
Can I buy a pill organiser with NDIS funding?
Whether an item is funded depends on your plan and your disability-related needs, and those decisions are made by the NDIA. We are a registered NDIS provider, and we work with participants on self-managed, plan-managed and NDIA-managed plans. Call 1300 767 777 to talk through ordering.
