Pressure care products

Pressure care products are designed to spread a person's weight over a larger area, so less of it rests on one bony spot such as the tailbone or heels. At Allcare Warehouse, this range brings together wheelchair and seat cushions from brands including ROHO, Jay, ACTION® and Otto Bock, plus heel and elbow protectors. We are a registered National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provider and supply participants whose plans are self-managed, plan-managed or NDIA-managed. Products are shown without prices, so call 1300 767 777 or visit our Liverpool showroom.

Why we don't display Prices ?

In this competitive market, we do the research on your behalf for the best prices and stock availability from different suppliers. Our product sourcing team is on constant lookout for the best deals from our suppliers, and we pass these great discounts on to you.

What pressure injuries are

Pressure injuries, also called pressure sores, pressure ulcers or bed sores, are areas of skin and the tissue beneath it damaged by constant pressure. Healthdirect explains the early signs, which parts of the body are most at risk and how they are treated. It also recommends checking the skin twice a day and changing position often. Equipment does not replace those steps, and if you notice red, blistered or broken skin, speak to a GP or nurse.

Pressure injury prevention equipment in this range

The range is grouped by where the person rests, so start with the place they spend the most time: a wheelchair or chair, or in bed.

Wheelchair and seat cushions

Our Wheelchair & Seat Cushions category covers air cell, polymer, gel, Floam and foam cushions for wheelchairs, chairs and commodes. Options run from simple foam rings and a coccyx cushion to adjustable air cell cushions such as the ROHO Quadtro and Single Valve. Many descriptions state the level of pressure care or the user each model was designed for, which helps narrow the choice.

Heel and elbow protectors

The Heel & Elbow Protectors category includes the Heelift Suspension Boot, the ACTION® Heel Protector, the ROHO Heel Pad, and sheepskin and silicone fibre protectors for heels and elbows. Most are held in place with adjustable velcro straps.

Mattresses and overlays

Support in bed is covered by Mattresses & Overlays in our bedroom range, which sits alongside our beds. If someone spends long periods in bed, look at the mattress and the heel protectors together.

Choosing pressure care products

The right product depends on how long the person sits or lies, how well they can change position, their weight and the condition of their skin. A health professional such as an occupational therapist, nurse or GP can advise on the level of support needed. Our guide to pressure care cushions and mattresses walks through the main types, and our pressure injury prevention equipment guide is a useful next read. When turning someone in bed, low friction slide sheets help carers move the person without dragging them across the sheet.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a health professional's advice before buying pressure care products?
It is a good idea, especially if the person already has red or broken skin or sits or lies for long periods. A GP, nurse or occupational therapist can advise on the type of support needed. Allcare does not provide clinical assessments, but we can supply the products they recommend.
Which cushion brands do you stock?
Our range includes ROHO, Jay, ACTION®, Otto Bock, Relax and SAF cushions, along with general foam, gel and fibre cushions. Call 1300 767 777 if you are looking for a specific model, or visit the Liverpool showroom to compare them.
Can I buy pressure care products with NDIS funding?
It depends on your plan. Whether an item is covered is decided by the NDIA, not by Allcare, so call 1300 767 777 to talk about ordering against your plan.
