IV poles and stands

An IV pole holds fluid bags, feeding sets and other equipment at the right height beside a bed, chair or wheelchair. Allcare Warehouse stocks mobile stands with two or four hooks, a pole that clamps onto a wheelchair, a quad-loop Rebotec IV pole, and clamp-on accessories such as baskets, glove dispensers and a sharps container set. The range suits home care, clinics, hospitals and aged care facilities. Compare the options below, then call or visit our Liverpool showroom.

Mobile IV stand options

A mobile IV stand rolls on castors so it can move with the person or between rooms. Our range differs by hook count, height range, base and pole material:

  • Nylon base, 2 or 4 hook: adjusts from 1420 to 2200 mm on a 600 mm nylon base with a stainless steel pole and 50 mm castors.
  • Alloy base, 2 or 4 hook: the same height range on a 600 mm alloy base.
  • Stainless steel, weighted base: adjusts from 1350 to 2050 mm on a 560 mm stainless steel base, and is described for operating theatres and clinical settings.
  • Stainless steel, stackable: adjusts from 1390 to 2200 mm with 75 mm castors, and stacks for storage and transport.
  • Economy: adjusts from 1240 to 2130 mm with a chromed steel pole on a 560 mm nylon base.

Four hooks suit people who use more than one bag at a time; two hooks are enough for a single line.

Wheelchair and quad-loop IV poles

For someone who uses a wheelchair, the clamp-on IV pole slides onto an existing wheelchair tilt bar and has an adjustable height, so the bag travels with the chair. Check that your wheelchair has a compatible tilt bar before ordering. The Rebotec model has quad loops that support up to four IV bags.

Drip stand accessories

Each drip stand accessory below fixes to the pole with an adjustable height clamp, turning a stand into a small workstation:

  • small and multi storage baskets, and a bottle holder
  • an oxygen bottle holder with two straps that suits a C size cylinder
  • single and triple glove dispensers, and a paper or cloth roll holder
  • a sharps container set and a white push handle

Choosing an IV pole

Think about how many bags will hang at once, the ceiling and bed height in the room, and the floor surface the castors will roll on. A weighted or wider base adds stability, while a stackable stand saves space in a facility store room. If you also need a feeding set or an overbed table for the same bedside, ask us when you order.

For larger fit-outs, our aged care facility equipment page and range of medication and procedure carts may help. You can also browse all medical and diagnostic equipment.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between an IV pole and an IV stand?
The terms are often used for the same thing. In our range, IV stand usually means a free-standing pole on a castor base, while IV pole also covers a pole that clamps onto a wheelchair. Both hold fluid or feeding bags at an adjustable height.
Can I add accessories to any stand?
The baskets, holders and dispensers in this range attach with an adjustable height clamp. Clamp sizes are listed as product dimensions rather than a pole diameter, so call us with the stand you have and we will confirm whether an accessory will fit before you order.
Do you supply IV stands in bulk for facilities?
Yes. Clinics, hospitals and aged care facilities can order several stands and accessories at once, and the stackable stainless steel stand is made for storage and transport. Call 1300 767 777 to discuss quantities and freight within NSW.
