Respiratory equipment and nebulisers

A nebuliser turns liquid medicine into a fine mist that you breathe in through a mask or mouthpiece. Allcare Warehouse stocks compressor, piston and mesh nebulisers from Omron and Rossmax, replacement masks, tubing and filters, and other respiratory equipment: a spacer, a peak flow meter, and two oxygen concentrators. Nebulised medicines and oxygen are prescribed, so your doctor decides what you use and how often. This page helps you compare the equipment once you know what you need.

Nebuliser models

Compressor nebulisers

The Omron NEC801 and NEC803 are mains-powered compressor models. Omron lists a 0.3 ml per minute nebulisation rate and a treatment time of about 6 to 8 minutes, and both come with adult and child masks, a mouthpiece, air tube and filters.

Mesh and piston nebulisers

The Omron NEU100 is a pocket-sized mesh nebuliser that runs on two AA batteries for about four hours and works at any angle, even lying down. The Rossmax Piston Nebuliser has an adjustable valve bottle that changes the nebulisation rate, with adult and child masks included.

Replacement parts

Rossmax replacement parts include a mask, an air tube, a five-pack of air filters, and an accessory pack with a mouthpiece, medication kit, filters, a 150 cm air tube and masks. Rossmax also offers a nasal washer accessory.

Oxygen concentrator options

An oxygen concentrator draws in room air and delivers concentrated oxygen through a nasal cannula. Healthdirect notes that people with severe COPD may be offered supplemental oxygen at home from a portable concentrator or tank. We stock two models:

  • DJMed High Capacity 10L: delivers 1 to 10 litres per minute, weighs 27 kg, has wheels, and comes with a humidifier bottle and nasal cannulas.
  • Portable Oxygen Concentrator: weighs about 2 kg, runs on a battery with five pulse-dose settings, and has an LCD display.

Oxygen flow settings are prescribed. Allcare does not set up or adjust oxygen therapy, so follow your doctor's instructions.

Spacer and peak flow meter

A spacer is a chamber that attaches to a puffer so more medicine reaches the lungs; Healthdirect explains how to use a spacer. The Rossmax Aero Spacer fits commonly prescribed metered dose inhalers, has a soft silicone mask, and is latex and BPA free.

A peak flow meter measures how fast you can breathe out. The Rossmax Peak Flow Meter reads from 60 to 800 litres per minute and has green, yellow and red zone markers your doctor can set. It is washable.

Related equipment and guides

Our respiratory equipment guide compares concentrators and nebulisers in more detail. Many people also use a pulse oximeter to check oxygen saturation. You can browse more home medical devices, see hygiene supplies for cleaning, or read about assistive technology funding.

Frequently asked questions

Which nebuliser suits travel?
The Omron NEU100 suits travel. It is pocket-sized, runs on two AA batteries for about four hours, and works at any angle. The compressor models need mains power, so they suit use at home.
Can children use these nebulisers?
The Omron and Rossmax models come with both adult and child masks. Rossmax says its adjustable valve can be closed for a lower rate, which it describes as more suitable for children with lower breathing capacity. Follow your child's doctor on the medicine and how to use it.
How often should filters and masks be replaced?
It depends on the model and how often you use it, so check the maker's instructions that come with your device. We stock Rossmax replacement filters, masks and tubing, and an accessory pack. Call us with your model name to confirm which parts fit.
Can I buy an oxygen concentrator with NDIS funding?
Funding decisions are made by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) and depend on your plan, not on Allcare. Allcare Warehouse is a registered NDIS provider, and participants can order from us on a self-managed, plan-managed or NDIA-managed plan. Your doctor will need to prescribe oxygen before you use a concentrator.
