Bottles, teats and cups

Philips Avent bottles come in two main families. Natural bottles have a wide, breast-shaped teat and are listed from 120mL to 330mL, including glass versions. Anti-Colic bottles have a valve in the teat and come in 125mL and 260mL sizes. Replacement teats are sold in pairs by flow rate, and Natural and Anti-Colic newborn starter gift sets are also listed.

For older babies and toddlers, the cups move from soft to more grown-up drinking:

• Spout cups with handles: 200mL from 6 months, 260mL from 12 months and 340mL from 18 months, in blue, pink and black.
• Easy Sip and Grippy cups: the Easy Sip has a soft, flexible spout and the Grippy cup a hard spout.
• Straw cups: a 300mL cup and a 200mL bendy straw cup from 9 months.
• Grown Up Cup: 260mL from 9 months, with a 360° rim that only lets liquid flow when the lip presses on it.

Breastfeeding

Four Avent breast pumps are listed: the Natural manual pump, two single electric pumps and a double electric pump. Disposable breast pads come in 24 and 60 packs, and a 6 pack of washable pads has a brushed cotton lining. Nipple shields, nipple protectors in small and standard sizes, and a ventilated breast shell set complete the range.

Cleaning, sterilising and warming

Pregnancy, Birth and Baby advises using only bottles and feeding equipment that have been washed and sterilised, and never warming formula in a microwave because it heats unevenly; bottle warmers are a safe option. The range includes the Avent microwave steam steriliser and steriliser bags (5 bags, 100 cycles), 3-in-1 and 4-in-1 electric steam sterilisers, a drying rack, a bottle brush and the Fast Bottle Warmer.

Soothers

Avent soothers come in pairs and are mostly sized by age: 0 to 6 months, 6 to 18 months and 18 months plus. Styles include Ultra Air, with extra large air holes, Ultra Soft, glow-in-the-dark night soothers, translucent and animal designs, and the one-piece Soothie, plus a soother clip.

Nappies, wipes and change time

Huggies nappies run from Newborn size 1 through Infant size 2 to Ultra Dry sizes 3 to 6, made in separate boys and girls versions, and Ultimate sizes 3 and 5. Little Swimmers swimpants come in small, medium and large. Wipes include Essential Clean, Thick in fragrance free or coconut oil, Ultimate Nourish & Care and a biodegradable option, plus disposable change mats. Nappy rash creams and more wipes, from WaterWipes and Curash Babycare, are in children care.

Nightlights and sleep

HoMedics makes the Eggshell Nightlight, which turns on and adjusts brightness at a press of its head, the MyBaby Comfort Creatures Elephant night light, which cycles through 5 colours, and the MyBaby SoundSpa Lullaby with projector. A Welcare sound machine that records a heartbeat is in sleep masks and sound machines.
