Reacher Grabbers & Household Aids
A reacher grabber lets you pick up dropped items, reach high shelves and pull things closer without bending or stretching. Allcare Warehouse stocks several reacher grabber designs alongside household aids for turning taps and keys, reading, writing and hair washing. These are small tools for people with limited reach, a weak grip or reduced vision, and for the carers who help them. The same category also holds linen and transport equipment used in care facilities, covered further down the page.

Sheet Magnifier
Choosing a reacher grabber
The main differences are the trigger, the jaws and whether the head turns.
- Easy Reacher: a full trigger handle that needs minimal finger extension, rubber-lined twin jaws and a magnet for pins and small metal objects.
- Pick-up Reacher Swivel Head: the same style of grip with a head that swivels to pick up objects from different angles.
- Helping Hand Arthrigrip: twin jaws that can be set at two angles, sold in different lengths.
- Helping Hand Featherweight: a pull-type trigger with a single moving jaw that needs minimal hand movement, plus a magnet and clip.
The Long Handled Dust Pan & Brush works on the same idea for sweeping without bending.
Tap turner and key turner
A tap turner adds leverage when taps are hard to grip. Tapturn Turners hook over cross-handle taps and come as a red and blue pair, while the Crystal Tap Turner clamps around round tap tops with non-slip rubber jaws. The Double Key Turner holds keys in a built-up handle for better grip and leverage, and the keys fold away when not in use.
Magnifier, reading and writing aids
The Sheet Magnifier is a light, flexible sheet for magnifying large areas of print, and the Magnifying Viewer hangs around the neck so both hands stay free for reading or craft. The Folding Book/Magazine Stand and Angled Book Rest hold reading material in place. For writing and gripping, the Pen and Pencil Holder and Plastazote tubing, a closed cell foam you cut to length, build up thin handles on pens and cutlery. Easigrip Scissors have loop handles that spring open after each cut.
Hair washing and personal care
For people who cannot use a shower, the Inflatable Shampoo Basin and Hair Washing Tray for Bed allow hair to be washed while lying in bed, and the Hair Washing Tray for Sink suits someone who is seated. The suction-mounted Nail/Denture Brush is designed for one-handed use. Care Quip Raisers lift a bed or chair for people who find it hard to stand up.
Linen and transport equipment for facilities
Care facilities will find linen skips in single, double and triple sizes, soiled linen bags for colour coding, a Linen Folding Table, a bin bracket for side rails and the Enforce Towing Tug, a compact ride-on electric tug for moving goods in hospital and facility environments. More equipment for clinics and aged care homes is on our facility equipment page, including medication and procedure carts.
For home use, these aids sit within our daily living aids range, with dressing aids for getting ready and eating and kitchen aids for mealtimes.
