Compression stockings, socks and hosiery
Allcare Warehouse stocks compression stockings, socks and tights from Ibici, Scholl and McDavid. Compression hosiery is firmest at the ankle and eases off further up the leg, which is known as graduated compression. The range covers medical-grade Ibici stockings and pantyhose, Scholl flight socks and Light Legs tights, and McDavid sports compression. Medical-grade compression stockings should be fitted on the advice of a health professional, so the right level and size are chosen for you. They sit within our wider supports and braces range.

Medical compression stockings from Ibici
Each Ibici product description lists its compression level in millimetres of mercury (mmHg):
- 18 to 22 mmHg: IBICI Firm Compression Knee-High Hosiery, IBICI Firm Compression Thigh Length Stocking (worn with a suspender belt), IBICI Sheer Support Pantyhose (Med/Strong), IBICI Firm Compression Full Figure Pantyhose and IBICI Firm Compression/Maternity Pantyhose.
- 23 to 27 mmHg: Ibici Plus Compression Socks, a knee-high women's sock described as firm Class 2 compression.
- 16 to 20 mmHg: Repomen Italian Fashion Compression Socks for Men, a knee-high support sock.
Healthdirect says a doctor might suggest compression stockings for varicose veins, and that they should be prescribed and fitted so that you get the right amount of compression. Talk to your GP before buying medical-grade hosiery, and have the level they recommend handy when you call or visit.
Flight socks for travel
Scholl flight socks use graduated compression and are made for flights and long journeys, where sitting still for hours can leave ankles swollen and legs tired. Scholl lists them as compression factor 14 to 17. They come in black and natural, in women's and men's sizes, including a Silky style. Healthdirect's page on deep vein thrombosis explains what a DVT is and how it can be prevented. If you have had a clot or have a vein condition, ask your doctor what type of hosiery you need before you travel.
Compression socks and tights for everyday wear
For tired, heavy legs, Scholl Light Legs Compression Tights come in 20 denier, in black or natural, and 60 denier in black, in sizes from small to extra large. Denier describes the thickness of the fabric, not the compression level. For sport, McDavid Rebound Compression Socks list 18 to 21 mmHg at the ankle, while McDavid Compression Leg Sleeves and the McDavid Thermal Compression Pant are made to keep leg muscles warm during training. More McDavid calf sleeves are in ankle and foot supports, and the Activease Low Compression Magnetic Knee Support also sits with our knee braces.
