Bedroom aids for elderly and disabled people
Bedroom aids for elderly people and people with disability make the hours spent in bed more comfortable and make getting in and out of bed easier for the user and their carer. Allcare Warehouse groups them by job: what you sleep on, what protects the bed, what helps at the bedside, and what supports the body. This page walks through each group so you can see which ones suit the person you care for, then go straight to the right range.

Mattresses and overlays
The surface someone lies on matters most when they spend long periods in bed. Our pressure relieving mattress range covers Icare ActiveX foam mattresses, Icare medical mattresses, alternating air systems such as CuroCell and VersaFlo, and foam, gel and air overlays that sit on top of an existing mattress. An alternating air mattress uses a pump to inflate and deflate rows of cells in turn, so pressure does not stay on one spot. Changing position often is one of the ways to prevent pressure injuries, according to Healthdirect, and the right surface supports that.
Bedding and bed protection
Waterproof bedding protects the mattress and keeps the bed easy to clean. The range includes fitted mattress protectors, fully enclosed covers, pillow protectors, washable absorbent bed pads and cotton sheet sets cut to fit and move with adjustable beds. Wipeable medical grade covers such as Icare Zerotec suit homes and facilities where infection control matters. The waterproof bedding page also explains how each protector feels to sleep on.
Bedroom equipment for disabled users at the bedside
Bedroom equipment for disabled people often starts at the bedside. Our bedside aids cover the small things that make nights easier:
- male and female urinal bottles, a slipper bed pan and a holder that clips to the bed
- bed and chair raisers that lift an ordinary bed to a better height for standing
- bed sticks and support rails that slide between the mattress and base
- an overbed frame and a rope ladder for sitting up in bed
- a crash mat, rail bumpers and rail protectors for people who roll or move a lot in bed
Pillows and cushions
Support pillows come in shapes for different sleepers and positions, including contoured and low-profile pillows, a wipeable Fibre Med pillow for care facilities, a bed wedge, knee cushions, lumbar rolls and pillow suspenders that stop pillows sliding down a profiling bed (one whose base bends to raise the head and knees).
Beds and the rest of the bedroom
Bedroom aids for elderly users work alongside the bed itself. Our care beds range covers electric homecare beds, facility beds, rails and overbed tables. For why these aids are worth considering, read why bedroom aids matter.
Buying with NDIS funding
As a registered National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provider, Allcare Warehouse supplies bedroom aids to participants with self-managed, plan-managed or NDIA-managed plans. The NDIS explains that low-cost assistive technology can usually be bought from your consumables budget, but what your plan covers is decided by the NDIA and your plan. Products are shown without prices, so call 1300 767 777, visit the Liverpool showroom or contact us to ask.
