Pelvic floor exercisers and probes
Three TensCare exercisers work by electrical muscle stimulation through a probe. The Elise 2 is slimline and recharges by USB, the itouch sure has four preset settings and a one touch memory, and the Sure PRO, which TensCare describes as suitable for professional use, adds dual channels and a 90 day memory. The iEase works differently, using an inflatable probe and pneumatic biofeedback to guide Kegel exercises lying, sitting or standing.
The Liberty probe range fits most muscle stimulators and EMG biofeedback equipment. Besides the standard vaginal probe, there are the smaller Liberty Probe Mini, the Liberty Loop with a biofeedback pointer, and the Liberty Fit anal probe with an adjustable depth setting. TensCare notes that the Liberty, Liberty Probe Mini and Liberty Fit contain nickel, which may irritate skin after prolonged contact.
TENS and muscle stimulation units
The perfect mamaTENS is a portable maternity TENS unit with three preset settings, four large electrode pads and a boost button. The perfect TENS comes bundled with an iSock or iGlove, garments made with SilverStim conductive fabric that spread the stimulation across a foot or hand; both garments are also sold separately in medium and large. The perfect BEAUTY is an electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) unit for the face and body.
Spare parts and accessories
Spares are listed by the device they fit: replacement leads, rechargeable batteries and charger cradles, square and large electrode pads, mamaTENS pads and neck cord, a belt clip and a carry case. TensCare suggests a new lead when an Elise 2, or a newer Elise or itouch sure, shows the 'LEADS' fault message. These parts also appear in our other medical products listing.

Frequently asked questions
Should I get advice before using a pelvic floor exerciser?
Healthdirect suggests seeing your doctor for an assessment if you have bladder or bowel problems, and says your doctor may refer you to a physiotherapist or continence nurse. Get that advice before choosing an exerciser, as our team does not carry out assessments.
Can a TENS machine be used during pregnancy?
Healthdirect's TENS guide lists labour among the uses for TENS, and asks anyone who is pregnant to speak with their physiotherapist, GP or midwife before using one. Of the TensCare units, mamaTENS is the one designed for labour, while the perfect TENS bundle is set up for hands and feet.
Who should not use a TENS machine?
The same Healthdirect guide says TENS should not be used by people with a pacemaker or other implanted heart device, people diagnosed with epilepsy, or for a new pain unless a doctor has said it is safe. It also warns against use on an open wound, at the front of the neck, while driving or in water.
