Crepe bandages and compression wraps

Nexcare Medium Crepe Bandages, 1.6m long in 5, 7.5 and 10cm widths, are a gentle weight for light bandaging, with clips included. Heavy Weight Crepe Bandages come in the same widths at 2.3m, stretching to about 4m, and are latex free. The Self Stick Compression Wrap is listed in 25, 50 and 75mm widths. Compression is the C in the RICE first aid that Healthdirect describes for sprains and strains, where a bandage is worn to limit swelling and bleeding.

Plasters, tape and wound closures

Plastic bandages come in tan, clear and neon packs of 10 sachets. Nexcare Blue Comfort Strips are high visibility for food preparation areas, with a diamond shape that seals around the pad. Max Hold Waterproof Bandages are a thin, clear film that the listing says stays on for up to 48 hours, even in the shower.

Nexcare Micropore Gentle Paper Tape is 9.14m long, in white at 12.5, 25.4 and 50mm and tan at 12.5 and 25.4mm. The Steri-Strip Wound Closure, 6 x 75mm in tan, is a low profile strip for minor wounds and for use after sutures or staples are removed. Non medicated Acne Absorbing Covers turn white as they absorb.

Frequently asked questions

How should I cover a blister?

Healthdirect suggests leaving a minor blister alone to heal where possible, as the covering skin helps protect it. If it has burst, wash and clean it, leave the roof of skin in place and cover it with a plaster or bandage. Nexcare Blue Comfort Strips have a soft pad that won't stick to wounds.

Which Nexcare tape is gentlest on fragile skin?

Micropore Gentle Paper Tape, also known as 3M Micropore Surgical Tape. Nexcare describes it as hypoallergenic, latex free and breathable, with an adhesive that removes easily, which makes it suited to frequent dressing changes, elderly patients and sensitive skin. It tears by hand to length and is used to secure non-bulky dressings.

Are Nexcare crepe bandages latex free?

The Heavy Weight Crepe Bandage listings say latex free. The Medium Crepe Bandage listings do not mention latex either way, so if a latex allergy is a concern, ask the team to check before ordering, or choose the heavy weight version.
