Mattress covers and protectors

  • Mattress Protector, Fitted Sheet Style: goes on like a fitted sheet, with a 100% waterproof top layer.
  • Mattress Cover, Fully Enclosed: a zipped cover for all six sides of the mattress, which Icare says also shields the sleeper from dust mites.
  • Zerotec Medical Grade Mattress and Overlay Covers: medical grade PVC that wipes clean, made for infection control, with welded seams and a flap that keeps drips off the zip.

The fitted protector and the enclosed cover share a tencel fibre surface over a quiet, breathable PU backing.

Pillow and cushion covers

The Icare pillow protector uses the same surface and backing, closes with a zip, measures 50 x 75cm and is sold in pairs. The Medical Cushion Cover is made from Zerotec, a medical barrier fabric that stretches in every direction, with air release vents, welded seams and flaps for fluid control. It is listed for the Reform Seat Cushions, 5cm Seat Cushions, Coccyx Cushion, Posture Wedge and Donut Cushion, and more seating is in our cushions range.

Washable chair and bed pads

Three reusable absorbent pads round out the range. The Absorbent Chair Pad and the Full Absorbent Chair Protector, which fits most lift chairs, each hold 500ml over 8 hours. The Absorbent Bed Pads with Tuck-in Flaps hold 2 litres per square metre over 8 hours and come in long single, king single, double and queen. Frequently asked questions

What size mattress cover do I need?

Start with the depth of the mattress. Zerotec covers are made for 15cm and 20cm deep mattresses and for 5cm overlays. The fitted protector has a 32cm stretch drop and the enclosed cover a 35cm drop. The listings do not give the widths and lengths available, so call 1300 767 777 with your mattress size.

How do I wash the chair and bed pads?

Icare lists all three absorbent pads as machine washable, to be line dried in the shade. It does not recommend machine drying, ironing or dry cleaning, and asks that each pad be fully dry before it is used again. They are made to be washed and reused day after day.

Do the absorbent pads replace continence products?

No. Icare describes the chair and bed pads as protecting furniture and mattresses from stains and damage. They are not worn, so for products that hold leaks at the body, see our adult continence products. Those include incontinence pads, pull-ups and all-in-one briefs.
