Elastoplast plasters, dressings and blister care

Strips come in flexible fabric, plastic and extra tough waterproof styles, with Aqua Protect for washing, showering and swimming. Kids can choose Disney Frozen II, Marvel, Minions, Peppa Pig and Sesame Street designs. For bigger wounds, there are non-stick dressings, waterproof XL and XXL sterile dressings, cut to size rolls and a waterproof spray plaster. Blister plasters in small, large and XL use hydrocolloid technology. Healthdirect says a minor blister should heal in a week or two, and if possible it should be covered, protected and left alone.

Strapping tape, bandages and kinesiology tape

Rigid strapping tape comes in widths from 12.5 mm to 50 mm, and Elastoplast suggests pairing it with pre-taping underwrap and an elastic adhesive bandage, which it calls the UTB method. Cohesive compression bandages stick to themselves rather than to skin or hair. Healthdirect lists compression, wearing a bandage around the injury to stop swelling and bleeding, as part of RICE treatment for sprains and strains. Kinesiology tape comes in rolls in several colours and as pre-cut strips, and crepe, conforming and Leukoband bandages are also listed.

Supports, sleeves and heat packs

Advanced supports for the ankle, knee and wrist come in medium and large, alongside an Everyday Knee Support, adjustable Sport supports and a functional knee brace. Sport compression socks and arm and calf sleeves are sold in pairs. For heat and cold, there are Spiral Heat patches for the back, neck and other areas, a Sport Cold Spray and a reusable hot and cold pack. Our guide to aids for pain relief covers these in more depth.

Frequently asked questions

Which Elastoplast plasters suit sensitive skin?

The Sensitive range uses a hypoallergenic adhesive that Elastoplast describes as painless to remove, in strips, assorted packs, sizes up to 4XL and Light, Medium and Dark tones. Ultra Sensitive plasters are made for fragile and sensitive skin. Hypoallergenic Transparent Spots are described as kind to sensitive skin, and a Sensitive First Aid Tape is listed for securing dressings.

What is the Elastoplast Scar Reducer for?

Elastoplast Scar Reducer XL is a pack of 21 transparent, self-adhesive patches for raised and coloured scars known as hypertrophic scars and keloids. Elastoplast designed it for longer scars, such as surgical and caesarean scars. The listing says to wear a patch for at least 12 hours a day or night and change it daily. Ask your doctor whether it suits your scar.

Do you stock Elastoplast mouthguards?

Yes, in adult, youth and junior sizes, with clear versions for adults and youth. Elastoplast says each mouthguard protects the teeth and jaw and has a customisable fit, and a leaflet inside the pack explains how to fit it. Choose the size by the wearer's age group, and follow the fitting steps before the first game or training session.
