Dettol hand wash, soap and sanitiser

Liquid hand wash comes in pumps and refills in many fragrances, with foam hand wash and Touch of Foam alongside. The Australian Heartland Collection is made in Australia, with scents such as Daintree Rains Grapefruit and Citrus, Nullarbor Moon Wild Rosella and Red Earth Buddha Wood. The No-Touch automatic hand wash system dispenses hand wash on its own. Body wash and bar soap come from the Profresh, Parents Approved and Sapoderm ranges.

Instant hand sanitiser comes in 50 mL clip-on bottles, 200 mL and 500 mL, plus sanitiser wipes. Healthdirect notes that warm, soapy water is the best option when hands are visibly dirty, because hand sanitiser only works on hands with no visible dirt. Other brands are in our sanitisers range.

Surface, floor and laundry cleaning

Disinfectant surface wipes run from 40 to 240 per pack, and Power and Pure wipes are made for kitchens and bathrooms. Healthy Clean trigger sprays cover the kitchen, bathroom, mould and general surfaces. Floor wipes, a floor cleaning system and Antibacterial Household Grade Disinfectant for hard surfaces are listed too. For the laundry, Dettol lists laundry sanitiser for the wash, Spray and Wear for clothes between washes, and a washing machine cleaner.

Dettol antiseptic products

Dettol Antiseptic Antibacterial Disinfectant Liquid, from 125 mL to 750 mL, is labelled for use as a gentle antiseptic on minor cuts, scratches and insect bites, and also as a household disinfectant. Dettol Antiseptic Cream is a 30 g tube made with almond oil, and the Antiseptic Disinfectant Wound Wash Spray cleanses minor cuts and grazes without touching the wound. Plasters and dressings are in our first aid and wound care range.

Frequently asked questions

Is Dettol hand sanitiser safe to keep around children?

Store it carefully. Healthdirect warns that alcohol-based hand sanitiser can be poisonous if swallowed, and advises keeping it out of reach of children and supervising them when they use it. For poisoning advice, call the Poisons Information Centre on 13 11 26 at any time of day.

Can Dettol biodegradable wipes go in my compost?

Not in a home compost bin. Dettol says the wipes are made from 100% plant-based fibres, but that the fibres will biodegrade only under certified commercial or council composting conditions.

Which refills fit the Dettol No-Touch system?

We list No-Touch refills made for the automatic system in Aloe Vera and Vitamin E, Cucumber and Melon, Vanilla and Classic. The No Touch Starter Pack and the No-Touch Automatic Hand Wash System are listed separately, so tell us whether you need the unit itself or only refills, and which fragrance you want.
